Substrate: Substrate must be load-bearing, with good flexural strength, waterproof, dry, sound, clean, dust-free and free of separation layers. Adhesion reducing materials must be removed.
For highly absorbent substrates (e.g. aerated concrete), the substrate must be primed with Knauf Haftemulsion and allowed to dry. Concrete surfaces must be primed with Betokontakt. Gypsum boards must be installed on a load-bearing substructure, and the joints must be clean and dust-free. Knauf Uniflott, with which the joints are filled, must already be hardened and leveled with the surface of the boards. Possible depressions to be filled with Knauf Uniflott. Mixing: Knauf Uniflott Finish is mixed in the bucket. Use clean dishes/tools.
Work process: Basic plastering Mix Knauf Uniflott and wait a little. Fill the joints with Knauf Uniflott, pulling the putty mass sharply with a spatula with a built-in bit. The excess material from the joint should be removed after about 60 minutes. Finish plastering Finally, finish plastering is done with Knauf Uniflott Finish. The material is placed on a trowel and pulled wide until a flat joint surface is obtained. Depending on the quality of the surface, more work may be required. In the case of multi-layer application, the previous layer must be completely dry. After the putty has completely dried, the joint or surface can be sanded by hand or by machine. Knauf Uniflott Finish can be sanded with ordinary sandpaper number ≥ 120. Dust to be removed. Full surface plastering or smoothing of rough substrates. Knauf Uniflott Finish should be applied to a thickness of up to 3 mm and spread thinly over the surface. After the first layer has dried, a second layer can be applied to obtain a flat surface. Surface preparation: Before subsequent layers or coverings (e.g. wallpaper) are applied, the surface must be primed according to BVG Merkblatt 6 "Preparation of plasterboard surfaces in dry construction for subsequent application or cladding", Plastered surfaces can be painted directly with Knauf Trockenbaufarbe, no prior priming required. If ordinary paint is to be used, priming with Knauf Tiefengrund is necessary. Before applying plaster, it can be primed with Knauf Putzgrund (when using Knauf Royal-Fertgputz or Knauf Mineralputz Diamant) or Knauf Sperrgrund (when using Knauf Easyputz). A simple primer can be used before wallpapering. Only methylcellulose adhesives may be used according to BFS Merkblatt 16. "Technical instructions for working with wallpapers, adhesives" Frankfurt am Main issued by the Federal Committee for Paints and Property Protection. After applying paper or glass mesh wallpapers, as well as when laying plasters based on synthetic resins or cellulosic plasters to ensure sufficient ventilation in order to dry the surfaces.
Additional instructions:
The room temperature and the temperature of the base should be between +10o and +30o C. At low temperatures, they extend the working time, and at high temperatures, they shorten it. Air flow and sunlight on the material must be prevented. Plastering can only be done when deformations of the plasterboards are not expected as a result of changes in humidity and temperature. Dirty tools and utensils shorten the time to work with the material. Knauf Uniflott Finish cannot be mixed with other materials. After use, the tools must be cleaned with water. Instructions and product information can be found on the page www.knauf.de/diy.
Restrictions: Knauf Uniflott Finish cannot be used outside buildings/exterior.
